2018 Review

Janeiro

E Roma é uma cidade tão mágica, apaixonei-me. A história, a comida, tudo.

January

I started the year in Rome. Afterwards traveled to Florence, Venice and Milan. This trip will always be in my heart, one of my favorites ever. And Rome is such a magical city, I fell in love with it. The history, the food, everything. After this trip it was time to go back to Bern, where I lived the rest of the month as a part of my Erasmus program. This month I studied a lot for my exams but I also had lots of fun! I watched so many Disney movies you have no idea ahah.

Fevereiro

February

I only finished my college exams in February so only then I was able to come back to Portugal. Bern has a special place in my heart, I can’t wait to go back someday! It was sad to leave the city that has taught me so much, but going back home and being reunited with my family was amazing. Also in February I started the last semester of my undergraduate degree.

March

Best thing about March was revisiting Paris. How lucky am I to have visited two of my favorite cities this year?

Abril

April

To be honest with you, I have no idea what happened this month ahah. I think it was the month of my test week (tests of all the courses in the same week), therefore my absence. Probably I was stuck at home studying econometric models nonstop ahah #nerd. Apparently it was also the month of Easter, so I must have eaten a lot. And the month I rediscovered my love fo painting! One of my best therapies <3.

Maio

May

May was the month of my Benção das Fitas ceremony. I have so many beautiful words written on those, sometimes I read them all over again and they always make me smile. Thank you to all the people who wrote one for me, I love you <3.

Junho

June

June was the month of final exams, presentations and all that boring stuff. But it was also the month of World Cup!! And if you know me well, you know that I’m the mad about the Portuguese team, I mean, crazy mad. So I always love this kind of Tournaments!

Julho

July

July was a full month! I started my internship at Banco de Portugal, traveled around Portugal with my family and celebrated my 21st anniversary! I always love this month <3.

Agosto

Em Agosto terminei o meu estágio. Vou estar eternamente grata por esta experiência. E por poder conhecer todas estas pessoas! Foi tão divertido trabalhar com todos eles!

August

In August I finished the internship. I’ll be forever grateful for this experience. And for meeting all this people! So fun to work with all of them!

Setembro

Tornei-me oficialmente economista.

September

September was a hard month, as I told you on my last post. But it was also a month for change. I became an Economist, officially. And I made the hard decision of not giving up on my dreams and keep fighting. The bad things that happen in your life make you grow, they all teach you something. And this month I learned that, in the end, I’ll only regret the chances I didn’t take.

Outubro

October

The month where Autumn finally decided to appear! And Autumn is the season for changes, so they kept on appearing. I created my Youtube channel which might not seem like an important thing given my number of videos or subscribers but it means much more than that. It was one of the things I wanted to do for a long long time but was always to scared to do it. And I faced my fears once more!

Benfica

Novembro

November

November always starts with our anniversary! I’ve been loving this little guy for 5 years now. With our ups and downs, of course, but with the certainty that we have never given up on each other easily. We also went to a Benfica’s stadium to watch a game (I really like going to the stadium but I rarely go), spent an amazing full day in Lisbon and started taking my driver’s license. Another thing I was terrified of doing ahah.

Dezembro

December

In December I decided I needed more money to invest on my dreams so I spent the month working as a Christmas reinforcement in a store in my hometown. Not my dream job at all, in fact, I didn’t like it. But once more, I learned a lot. And I received my first payment check ever! Christmas was amazing, as always, although a very important part of us was missing this year. And suddenly we are on the last day of the month and the year!

As I told you before, 2018 was the hardest year so far in so many levels. I had to face a lot of my fears. Some as a choice and some because I had no other choice. It will not be remembered as a good year, in general. But as a year of personal growth and learning. I hope next year will treat me better and I’m sure many more exciting things are on my way! I’m ready for you 2019, let’s do this!

I Miss You

My Christmas in Pictures

Ugh, passo o ano todo À espera desta semana e passa sempre tão depressa, :(!

Enfim, aqui fica um pequeno resumo do meu Natal:

A summary of my Christmas

I haven’t spoken to you since Christmas Eve because I’ve been trying to enjoy these days as much as possible. You are tired to know by now, but this is my favorite time of the year! My sister came to Portugal to celebrate Christmas and left yesterday afternoon so I guess that dictates the end of Christmas ahah. Ugh, I spend the year waiting for this week and it always goes by so fast, :(!

Anyway, here is a little summary of my Christmas:

Christmas Eve Dinner // Christmas Day Lunch

On Christmas Eve we had the traditional bacalhau for dinner. My mother also cooked an octopus for my grandmother and for me, since we are not the biggest fans of bacalhau. For dessert we had 10 different things (not even kidding, they were 10 or more…) and my favorites were: chocolate mousse and chocolate and nuts cake. After dinner we all went to the sofa, talked and watched bits of Moana that was playing on the TV. My grandparents couldn’t wait until midnight so they opened their gifts at 10pm and went home afterwards. We stayed a bit longer on the sofa and started the party at midnight! I received such lovely gifts! But that is a whole new post, I’ll keep you updated ahah.

Christmas day lunch had to be lamb, as always. Except for my sister who dislike it so they ate the rest of bacalhau from the night before.

My dudes

On Christmas afternoon we went to my grandparent’s house to visit my uncles and cousins. We did what we always do: ate, talked about random things and laughed. We left around 20pm, brought soup for dinner and finished the day watching Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. Yes, we are still doing the HP marathon and now we’re only missing the last one! Afterwards I’m restarting the books.

I had the day off on the 26th so me and my sisters went to my other cousin’s home (the ones you can see on the first picture of this post) to use one of the best gifts of this Christmas. In this pictures you can see my new faux fur jacket and my Christmas nails eheh.

E a melhor prenda deste Natal foi… Cluedo do Harry Potter!

A brincar, NUNCA ninguém o vai fazer.

And the best gift this year was… Harry Potter Cluedo!

Omg, we have been playing it nonstop since we received it. It is so much fun! We only played one game at my cousin’s home because it lasted almost 3 hours ahah. So far we played 8 games and I’ve won them all. Who wants to try and win my strike? Kidding, no one will do that EVER! I’m such a bad loser, so you better not try me ahah. And that was it! On the 27th I worked all day and yesterday was my sister’s last day here so we had lunch it her, left her at the airport and watched Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows part 1 on the afternoon. Now one more Christmas is over so I’m already starting to think about New Years Eve. Do you have any special plans for Monday?
