Sete anos mais tarde, os The Strokes deram ao Universo mais uma prenda. O novo álbum, The New Abnormal, foi lançado o mês passado e parece que eles continuaram exatamente por onde tinham deixado. Soa aos The Strokes que eu conheço, e não e estou a queixar. Além disso, estou apaixonada pela capa deste álbum.

A primeira vez que ouvi o álbum, as minhas músicas favoritas foram Brooklyn Bridge to Chorus e Bad Decisions. A segunda vez que ouvi, adicionei Adults are Talking and Why e Sundays so Depressing?. Agora, pela 1000ª vez que o ouço, nem consigo escolher uma! Por isso vou apresentar-vs a música que mais parece adequada a um dia como o de hoje. Porque o Julian Casablancas continua a ler as nossas mentes.

Esta música fala da vida do Julian antes da fama. Reflete aspetos da sua vida passada, com um toque muito nostálgico em tópicos como o amor, trabalho ou pensamentos gerais sobre a vida.

 

Seven years later, The Strokes gave the Universe another gift. Their new album, The New Abnomal, was released last month and it feels like they picked up exactly where they left. It sounds like The Strokes I know, and I’m not complaining. Also, I’m in love with this album cover.

The first time I heard the album, my favorite songs were Brooklyn Bridge to Chorus and Bad Decisions. Second time listening to it, I’ve added Adults are Talking and Why are Sundays so Depressing?. Now, the 1000th time I’ve listen to it, I cannot even choose one! So I’ll just present you with a song that seems accurate on a day like today. Because Julian Casablancas keeps reading our minds.

This song talks about Julian’s life before fame. It reflects past aspects of his life, with a very nostalgic touch on topics like love, work and general thoughts about life.
