Vi esta beleza algures durante a primeira quarentena e senti que precisava de partilhar. “A paixão de Van Gogh” é o primeiro filme totalmente pintado. Óleo sobre telas pintadas por mais de 100 artistas. É uma verdadeira poesia pintada que resultou e, oitocentas e cinquenta e três pinturas diferentes – mais de sessenta e cinco mil imagens. Um filme tão impressionante, juro! Se gostam de pintura, não podem perder este filme.

O filme foca-se no mistério que ronda a morte de um dos pintores mais famosos da história – Vincent Van Gogh. A história é contada da perspetiva de Armand, o filho de um carteiro, encarregado de entregar a última carta de Vincent ao seu irmão Theo. Por mais estranho que possa parecer, ainda que Van Gogh seja um dos pintores mais conhecidos no mundo, só se tornou famoso depois da sua morte. Nos oito anos desde que começou a pintar até que morreu, Vincent pintou cerca de oitocentas pinturas e apenas vendeu uma durante a sua vida. Uma história comovente mas especial.

The movie focuses on the mystery that surrounds the death of one most famous paintors in the history – Vincent Van Gogh. The story is told from the perspective of Armand, the son of a postman, which is entitled to deliver Vincent’s last letter to his brother Theo. As stranger as it may seem, even though Van Gogh is know one of the most known painters in the world, he only became famous after his death. In the eight years between starting to paint and his death, Vincent painted over eight hundred paintings and only sold one during his lifetime. A heartbreaking story but so special nonetheless.
