Algumas fotos aleatórias do meu fim de semana em Lisboa. Não consigo deixar de me apaixonar sempre que visito esta cidade – a minha Lisbonita ♥. Mais uma vez, comi tão bem! Andei MUITO. E lembrei-me do que é andar em Lisboa – algo que só atletas de alta competição conseguem fazer. Tive a minha dose anual de vitamina D. E tive um desejo repentino de mudar toda a minha cozinha e pôr azulejos em todo o lado. Vi família e amigos. E tive de me relembrar várias vezes da razão pela qual eu deixei este sítio tão bonito. Fiquei com o coração cheio. Mas também fiquei com o coração apertado. Tal como fico sempre que digo adeus à minha família e parto para o aeroporto.

Lisboa é uma montanha russa de emoções. Mas eu já tenho saudades!

 

Some random pictures of my weekend in Lisbon. I cannot help but fall in love with this city everytime – my Lisbonita ♥. Once again, I have eaten so well! I have walked a LOT. And I remembered what it feels like to walk around Lisbon – something only high performance athletes can achieve. I got my yearly dose of vitamin D. And I got a sudden desire to re-do all my kitchen and use only azulejos for the walls. I saw poetry everywhere. I saw family and friends. And I had to remind myself over and over why I left this beautiful place. I got my heart full. But I got my heart broken too, just like everytime I kiss my family goodbye and leave to the airport.

Lisbon is a rollercoster of emotions. But I miss it already!

What to do in Nazaré, Portugal

A seguir a Tomar, fomos passar a noite (e o dia seguinte) à Nazaré. Para mim, é uma cidade balnear como qualquer outra em Portugal. Claro, com a pequena particularidade de ser aqui que as maiores ondas do mundo são formadas. Mas, infelizmente, na época em que fomos estas ondas não eram visíveis – a melhor altura para ver as ondas gigantes é entre Novembro e Janeiro. Ainda assim, o farol da Nazaré e o miradouro sob a cidade oferecem uma vista única que vale muito a pena.

Para além destes, e do centro da cidade, recomendo visitar o bairro dos pescadores e o mercado de peixo seco – muito típico e interessante. E, se tiverem sorte como eu, apanham uma noite de bailarico onde podem dançar com as nazarenas e as suas sete saias!

 

After Tomar, we went to spend the night (and following day) in Nazaré. For me, it is a balnear city just like any other in Portugal. Of course, with the little particularity of being the place to the biggest waves in the world. But, unfortunatly, at the time we went, these waves were not visible – the gigantic waves can be seen between November and January. Still, the lighthouse of Nazaré and the viewpoint offer an amazing view over the city and they are very much worth visiting.

Besides theses, and the citycenter, I recommend visiting the fisherman’s neighborhood and the dry fish marked – very typical and interesting. And, if you are lucky like me, you will catch a night of bailarico where you can dance with nazarenes and their seven skirts!

What to do in Tomar, Portugal

Continuando a nossa roadtrip por Portugal, saímos do Porto um dia de manhã e fomos passar o resto do dia a Tomar. Um dia é o suficiente porque o centro da cidade é mesmo pequenino – mas tão fofo. Basicamente chegámos um pouco antes da hora do almoço, demos um passeio pelo centro, visitámos uma igreja e vimos um senhor tocar Fado na rua. Entretanto sentámo-nos num café ao calhas para almoçar e acabou por ser maravilhoso! (Bom… mesmo não sendo totalmente imparcial, a verdade é que se come muito bem em todo o lado em Portugal). Se não me engano, chama-se Casa Salgado e é bem pertinho do rio.

À tarde fomos até ao castelo de Tomar e convento de Cristo – provavelmente o ponto mais turístico da cidade e razão pela qual é conhecida como a cidade dos templários. E uau, foi incrível, recomendo muito! Honestamente, tudo nesta cidade foi uma agradável surpresa.

Continuing our Portugal roadtrip, we left Porto one day in the morning and we went to spend the rest of the day in Tomar. One day is enough because the city center is very small – but so cute. Basically we arrived a bit before lunch time, we took a walk around the center, visited a church and saw a man playing Fado on the street. We then found a random café to have lunch which ended up being so good! (Well… I am not the most imparcial person here but the truth is that you will eat very well all over Portugal). If I am not mistaken it is called Casa Salgado and it is located just by the river.

In the afternoon we went to the castle and the Christ convent – probably the most turistic place in the city and the reason is is called the templar city. And uau, it was amazing, I recommend it 100%! Honestly, everything about this city was such a lovely surprise.
