Feriados são dias felizes!

Olá malta! Como foi a vossa quinta-feira? É feriado em Portugal hoje por isso tive um ótimo dia de folga! Tive tempo de organizar o meu roupeiro de verão de manhã, almoçar sushi no centro da cidade, ir às compras a seguir e descansar ao fim da tarde. Feriados são dias felizes! E as baterias estão carregadas para enfrentar o último dia da semana amanhã!

Ahh e feliz Junho! A grande mudança na minha vida está mesmo ao virar da esquina – só mais dois meses! Por isso recomecei a minha missão de encontrar um sítio para viver em Paris. Desejem-me sorte! Porque até agora tem sido um pesadelo ahah.

Holidays are happy days!

Hello everyone! How was your thursday?  It’s a holiday today in Portugal so I had an amazing day off! I had time to organize my Summer wardrobe in the morning, have a Sushi lunch in the city center, go shoe shopping afterwards and rest in the evening. Holidays really are happy days. And the batteries are loaded to face the last day of the week tomorrow!

Also, happy June! The big change in my life is just around the corner – just two more months! So I have re-started my mission to find a place to live in Paris. Wish me luck, guys! Because so far it has been a nightmare ahah.

Maria Modista: Iniciação à Costura

As minhas irmãs, sabendo que esta sempre foi uma área do meu interesse, ofereceram-me no Natal um workshop de iniciação à costura. Finalmente pude usufruir dele este fim-de-semana, na escola de costura Maria Modista (em São Sebastião). Para os mais curiosos, fica em baixo um pequeno resumo do que podem encontrar neste curso. Quantos interessados por costura temos desse lado?

Maria Modista: Introduction to Sewing

My sisters, knowing that this has always been an area of my interest, offered me on Christmas a sewing workshop. Finally I could enjoy it this weekend, in the sewing school Maria Modista (in São Sebastião, Lisbon). For the most curious, I will leave below a little summary of what you can find on this course. Sendo que o curso é de iniciação, todos os básicos são explicados. Como manusear a máquina de costura, como pôr a linha, o que quer dizer cada botão, etc. Além disso, inicialmente, são feitos exercícios para praticar linhas direitas, em ziguezague e curvas.
Depois disso, há uma pequena introdução à modelagem onde é criado um molde para a peça à vossa escolha (adequada ao vosso tamanho). A partir do molde, e depois de cortar o tecido corretamente, o resto do curso é passado na máquina.

Ahhh amo esta magia de ver algo útil e bonito nascer do meu trabalho. De seis bocados de tecido “aleatórios”, nasceram os calções que veem nas imagens acima! O que acham do resultado final?

Since the course is introductory, all the basic things are explained. How to use the sewing machine, how to put the thread, what does each button mean, etc. Besides that, initially, some exercises are made to practice straight lines, ziguezague and curves. After that, there is a little introduction to patterning where you create a pattern for the piece of your choice (and our size). For this pattern, and after cutting the fabric correctly, the rest of the course is spent on the machine.

Ahhh I love this magic of seeing something useful and beautiful being born from my work. From six “random” pieces of fabriz, the shorts on the images aboe were born! What do you think of the final result?

Friyay & a Friday List

 

É Friyay! Por isso é o dia perfeito para uma Friday list. Omg, não faço uma destas há tanto tempo! Prontos?

Ultimamente há uma diferença muuuuito grande entre a hora a que acordo e a hora a que me levanto 😀 . Por isso vamos acordar em… 7h45?

 

O mood de hoje?

Estou feliz por ser sexta feira porque estou completamente exausta desta semana. A vida pessoas está uma confusão, o trabalho está uma confusão e esta coisa de nunca sair de casa está a deixar-me louca. Por isso acho que a minha saúde mental já teve melhores dias.

Today’s mood?

I am happy that is Friday because I am completely exhausted this week. Personal life has been a mess, work has been a mess and this thing of never leaving the same place is making me crazy. So let’s say that my mental health has seen better days.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

O que vestiste hoje?

Estava a usar calções e uma camisa bonitinha mas de momento é só um vestido de noite, ups.

 

O que comeste hoje?

Salmão fumado com salada ao almço! Estava yum yum. E para o jantar, provavelmente sopa? E claro, alguns snacks durante o dia.

 

What are you wearing today?

I was wearing shorts and a pretty shirt but right now it’s just a night dress, ups.

 

What did you eat today?

Smoked Salmon and a salad for lunch! It was yum yum. And for dinner, probably soup? And of course, some little snacks during the day.

 

 

O que é que ouviste hoje?

Vamos esquecer as chamadas de trabalho aborrecidas que na verdae ocuparam 90% do tempo. Daquilo que me lembro: a nova música do Jake Bugg e muito Gorillaz. Algumas músicas espanholas também porque a vossa miúda precisa de se animar de vez em quando.

 

Qual foi a coisa mais divertida que aconteceu esta semana?

Comecei a jogar The Sims de novo! Acontece sempre assim: Jogo demasiado durante alguns dias de seguida e depois não jogo mais durante anos. Sempre 😀 . Mas bem, é divertido enquanto dura!

 

What did you listen to today?

Let’s skip the boring work calls which actually represented 90% of my time. From what I remember: the new Jake Bugg song and a lot of Gorillaz. Also some Spanish songs because your girls needs to cheer up every once in a while.

 

What was the most fun thing that happened this week? 

I have started to play The Sims again! It always goes like this: I play too much a lot of days in a row and then I do not play for years. Every time 😀 . But well, it’s always fun while it lasts!
