Hello helloooooo and happy Sundaaaaay! Este foi o fim-de-semana para as festas de Natal. Jantares de Natal, almoços de Natal, jogos de tabuleiro, lareira e cuddles no sofá. Bebidas quentes, karaoke, família e amigos. Also, claro, não esquecer as ugly Christmas sweaters, esta minha até guizos tem ahah. É mesmo a melhor altura do ano! Concordam? Qual a vossa altura favorita do ano? E qual a vossa coisa favorita no Natal?

Hello helloooooo and happy Sundaaaaay! This was the weekend for Christmas parties. Christmas dinners, Christmas lunches, board games, fireplaces and couch cuddles.  Hot beverages, karaoke, family and friends. Also, of course, never forget the ugly Christmas sweaters, the one I’m wearing even has rattles. This is definitely the best time of the year! Do you agree? What’s your favorite time of the year? And what’s you favorite thing about Christmas?

Saving the Planet one tree at a time

Replanting Leiria’s Pine Forest

 

Como se devem lembrar, o pinhal de Leiria desapareceu num único dia em 2017, devido ao incêndio mais feroz dos últimos 100 anos. Já passaram dois anos, mas como podem ver na segunda foto, tudo ainda parece muito triste.

A oportunidade de ser voluntária e replantar o pinhal surgiu há umas semanas como iniciativa do banco para o qual trabalho. E fizemos parte de tudo isto ontem! Que experiência boa, sentir que podemos fazer diferença no mundo, ainda que pequena. Plantámos 1000 pinheiros só ontem, 4000 nos 4 dias de voluntariado. E quão queridos são os pinheiros bebés? Adoráveis, não aguento.

Alguma vez plantaram uma árvore? É como se costuma dizer: planta uma árvore, escreve um livro e tem um filho. Todos estes continuam a viver depois de nós, assegurando a imortalidade.

 

As you may probably remember, Leiria’s Pine Forest disappeared in a single day in 2017, due to the fiercest forest fire of the past 100 years. It’s been two years, but as you can see from the second picture, it all still looks too sad.

The opportunity to be a volunteer and replant the forest came a few weeks ago as an initiative of the bank I work in. And we got to be a part of it all yesterday! What a great experience, to feel like we can make a difference in the world, even if small. We planted 1000 pine trees just yesterday, 4000 in all 4 days of volunteering. And how cute do the baby pine trees look like? So adorable, I can’t even.

Have you ever planted a tree? It’s like they say: plant a tree, write a book and have a child. These all live on after us, insuring a measure of immortality.

Olá a todos! E parabéns para mim ☺️. Já passa das 18h15 por isso posso oficialmente dizer que tenho 22 anos! Como prometido, aqui estou eu hoje. De momento estou no sofá com os meus avós à espera que as outras pessoas cheguem. Este ano o jantar é em casa. Vamos juntar todas as pessoas que eu adoro e celebrar com muita comida e doces. Não consigo pensar em melhor maneira de o fazer. Apesar de ser mais cansativo, prefiro assim. O dia foi longo mas foi bom! Agora vamos acabá-lo da melhor forma possível 😘

 

Hello all! And happy birthday to me ☺️. It is already pass 18h15 so I can officially say that I am 22 years old! As promised, here am I today. At the moment I’m on the sofa with my grandparents waiting for other people to arrive. This year the dinner is at home. We will gather all the people I love and celebrate with a lot of food and sweets! Cannot think of a better way to do it. Even though it is more tiring, I prefer this way. The day was long but it was good! Now let’s wrap this day, the best way possible 😘
