10 small things that make me smile

10 small things that make me smile

i♡ Dormir em lençóis lavados.

i♡ O cheiro das lareiras.

Pintar deixa-me feliz no geral. Parece magia!

First of all, I think it is important to say that I have a very (very!) easy smile. The smallest things can make me smile for a whole day. And I’m glad it is that way! I think I can truly appreciate the little things in life and just by writing this post I reminded myself that there are so so so many good things! So here are 10 of the many small things that  make me smile.

♡ Lucy’s happiness when I get home. No matter how the day went I know I will get home and my little dog will be happy to see me. There aren’t many things better than this.

i♡ Sleeping in fresh sheets. I don’t really know why but fresh white sheets make me so happy ahah.

♡ Baking cookies. I don’t know if what I really like is to bake them or to eat them fresh out of the oven afterwards (hummm…. probably eat them!).

i♡ The smell of fireplaces.  It smells like Christmas and holidays in the countryside, what’s not to like?

♡ Creating a “new” color with paint. Painting in general makes me happy. But I have a special pleasure in mixing colors and watching a new one being created. It’s like magic!

♡ Perder-me em sítios desconhecidos. Bem…

i♡ Descobrir novas bandas / músicas que eu gosto.

Colecionar memórias é a minha atividade preferida!

Eu quero saber!

♡ Getting lost in an unknown place. Well… I’m obviously talking about situations where I’m not in danger ahah. But I love getting lost in the cities when I’m travelling! I end up discovering much more interesting and “real” things when I get lost instead of  when I’m sticking to a route.

i♡ Watching the sun set at the beach. This one is very cliché, I know. But the sound of the waves mixed with the smell of the ocean and the colors of the sky is just beautiful. And it kind of makes everything else look small when you are standing there. Especially if there is no one else around.

♡ Late night conversations about the universe. I talk a lot, I think it shows ahah. But even though I really like to talk about all things, I hate small talk! I am not a fan gossip nor shallow talks, I prefer to talk about physics and arts and the universe. Now… this applies for the whole day, of course. But late night conversations are usually much more honest and unfiltered, that’s cool.

i♡ Discovering new bands / songs I like. I have found so many new bands and songs I like out of nowhere! You know when you are listening to a playlist and a song you don’t know starts playing and you fall in love? It’s amazing when that happens, it’s like a gift from the universe ahah.

♡ Looking into old pictures. This is kind of a bittersweet feeling. Looking into old pictures I get sad when I think that I cannot get those moments back ever again but I also get really happy that I got the chance to live them once. The best thing is when you realize that many more “pictures” are still to come. Collecting memories is my favorite thing to do!

What are the little thing that make you happy? I want to know!

Today at the beach

Today at the beach.

Living near the beach has its benefits. Ten minutes by car and we get to have sushi with a view to the ocean. I guess that’s quality of life! Today, even Lucy got to join us and run on the sand. My babyyyyy, she always gets so happy on the beach 😀 .

And now I’m going out for dinner with my most crazy friend. I’m ready for to hear the insane stories that always end up badly! I’m sure it will be a night of laughter.

Oh oh oh, and happy National Day of Portugal! I guess it’s too late for Fado, Bacalhau and Pastés de Belém now… I will leave that for another time. See you soon! xx.

TRIP DOWN MEMORY LANE

Trip down memory lane. Back in 2003.

Adoro ver fotos antigas.

I love looking back at old pictures. And that’s one of the reasons why I also love taking pictures this much! I know one day I’ll look back on these and be glad I did take them. Yesterday, me and my family spent a good amount of time looking at old pictures – some made us laugh like crazy, some made us sad, that’s the power of pictures! One millisecond of our lives that can be eternalized.

On this trip down memory lane we will visit September 2003 – my first day of school 😀 . These pictures are sooooo funny! And I can’t choose the funniest thing about them. Is it my baby teeth? Is it my prince charming hair? Or is it the fact that I am exploding of happiness to go to SCHOOL!? You decide! Ahah.
