Antes e depois da edição. Before and after editing.

So.

Sempre que edito uma foto adoro ver o antes e depois. Uma foto é capaz de contar uma história (uma imagem vale mais que mil palavras, lembram-se?) e, para mim, diferentes formas de edição contam histórias completamente diferentes. É por isso que eu me esforço muito quando estou a editar fotos para o instagram porque apesar de gostar de manter a harmonia entre as fotos, nem sempre estou no mesmo mood todos os dias e por isso a história que quero contar, muda.

Uso o Adobe Lightroom para editar as fotos e ultimamente tenho adotado este preset. Adiciona brilho e vibração às cores. Para mim, transmite boas energias e felicidade! Gostam?

Whenever I edit a picture I always love to see the before and after. A picture is capable of telling a story (a picture is worth a thousand words, remember?) and, for me, different forms of edition tell completely different stories. That’s why I always struggle when editing pictures from instagram because although I like to keep the harmony between my pictures, I’m not always in the same mood everyday and therefore the story I want to tell, changes.

I use Adobe Lightroom to edit my pictures and lately I’ve adopted this preset. It adds brightness and vibration to colors. For me, it transmits good energies and happiness! How do you like it?

Gucci gold watch. Change colors!

 

Um relógio da Gucci é bom, um relógio da Gucci vintage é ainda melhor! Encontrei esta caixinha nas profundezas do quarto dos meus pais esta semana. Aparentemente foi uma prenda do meu pai para a minha mãe quando fomos de férias em 1999 e ela ficou doente. Metas de relacionamento, verdade? Lembro-me vagamente de ver a minha mãe usá-lo quando eu era (ainda mais) pequenina mas, por qualquer razão, deixou de o usar. É um relógio super discreto, ao qual podem ser adicionados “anéis” coloridos de 12 cores, how fun? Já o rapinei para o meu quarto, claro. Para além de o achar lindo, é especial para mim. O que acham dele? Preferem com ou sem cores?

 

A Gucci watch is good, a vintage Gucci watch is even better! I found this little box in the depths of my parent’s bedroom this week. Apparently this was a gift from my father to my mother when we were on vacations in 1999 and she got sick Relationship goals, am I right? I remember vaguely my mother using it when I was (even more) little but, somehow, she stopped using it. It’s a super simple watch, to which you can add colorful “rings” of 12 colors, how fun? I already took it to my bedroom, of course. Besides finding it pretty, it is special to me. What do you think about it? Do you prefer it with or without colors?

Which filter should I use on my instagram? @catarinalmorais

Alguns de vocês devem ter reparado que tenho estado longe do meu Instagram. Além da questão de tempo que falei ontem, a verdade é que tenho estado a criar um filtro no lightroom há anos e ainda não encontrei o tal. Isto pode parecer estúpido para a maioria das pessoas e estão provavelmente a pensar “posta qualquer coisa, ninguém quer saber!”. Mas para pessoas que fazem isto “profissionalmente”, tudo conta. E se há uma coisa que aprendi a ler blogs e a fazê-lo eu mesma é que a personalidade é uma das coisas mais importantes, é isso que eu quero que o meu filtro mostre – a minha personalidade!

Há dias que prefiro as minhas fotos mais coloridas, outros mais nudes, outros prefiro com alto contraste, outros não e por aí fora. É por isso que é tão difícil para mim escolher apenas um! Por isso, passado meses de indecisão, pensei: “Porque não perguntar às pessoas pelas quais eu estou a fazer isto? Elas vão saber melhor que eu!”. Por isso, aqui estou eu. O que acham? Alguma sugestão?

 

Some of you might have noticed that I have been away from my Instagram. Besides the time issued I talked about yesterday, the truth is I have been creating a filter in lightroom for ages and I still haven’t found the one. This might sound stupid for the majority of people and you’re probably thinking “just post anything, no one cares!”. But for people who do this “professionally”, everything counts. And if there’s one thing I learned from reading blogs and doing it myself is that personality is one of the most important things, that’s what I want my filter to show – my personality!

Some days I prefer colorful pictures, others I prefer nude ones, others I prefer them with high contrast, others not and so on. That’s why it is so hard for me to choose just one! So, after months of indecision, I thought: “Why not ask to the people I’m doing this for? They’ll know better than me!”. So, here I am. What do you think? Any suggestions?
