This weekend in snapshots!

 

Visita #1148 da minha irmã a Paris mas mantemos os básicos: museus, crepes e passeios ao sol. Desde que cheguei há 1 ano e meio que queria voltar ao museu de Orsay e ainda não tinha tido a oportunidade. Finalmente o dia chegou! Vi os clássicos do impressionismo e pós-impressionismo (incluindo o famoso auto retrato de Van Gogh) e ainda tivemos a sorte de estar lá para p último fim-de-semana da exposição de Edvard Munch. Incrível! Regressámos à nossa creperia favorita em Paris e, ainda que os crepes salgados sejam incríveis, não há nada que ganhe um crepe doce para mim. Nota 10/10 para o crepe de maçã caramelizada! Ainda que frio e cansativo, um ótimo fim de semana para recarregar baterias ♥.

 

Visit #1148 of my sister to Paris but we keep the basics: museums, crepes and walks in the sun. Since I have arrived, one year and a half ago, that I want to go back to the Orsay Museum but I hadn’t had the chance. Finally the day has arrived! We saw the classics of impressionism and pos-impressionism (including Van Gogh’s famous auto potrait) and we had the change of being there for the last weekend of Edvard Munch’s exhibition. Amazing! We came back to our favorite creprerie in Paris and, even if the salted crepes are amazing, nothing can beat a sweet crepe for me. 10/10 for the caramelized apple crepe! Even if cold and tiring, an amazing weekend to charge batteries ♥.

Um brinde a 2023 ♥

Feliz ano novo, pessoas lindas! Espero que estejam tão entusiasmados para este ano como eu.

Costumava ser a pessoa que precisava sempre de ter tudo sob controlo e de saber exatamente o que ia acontecer a seguir. Bem, quem quero enganar? Ainda sou um pouco assim. Mas o ponto é: aprendi a encontrar o lado divertido no inesperado. Enquanto tentava planear tudo, a vida provava-me sempre que não o podia fazer. Então comecei a gostar de não saber onde a vida me levava. Não sabia o que iria acontecer depois de me despedir e sair do país. Nem o que estava guardado para mim depois do mestrado. Seria capaz de sequer encontrar um estágio e acabar o mestrado? Encontraria um trabalho? Mudava de país novamente? Foi bem stressante mas divertido ao mesmo tempo! Decidi levar as coisas com calma, um passo de cada vez. Tive muitas surpresas boas e aprendi a aproveitar o processo de criar a vida em vez de viver só no futuro!

Por isso para este ano planeio… nada. Não sei o que vai acontecer e estou entusiasmada quanto a isso – tantas possibilidades! Só desejo que, o que quer que aconteça, seja para o meu melhor. Por isso, tal como no ano passado, as minhas resoluções estão nos pequenos prazeres da vida (não são os melhores, de qualquer forma?): visitar novos sítios, experimentar novos restaurantes, cozinhar novas receitas, aprender muito e divertir-me!

A toast to 2023 ♥

Happy new year, beautiful people! I hope you are as excited for this year to come as me.

I used to be the person that always needs to have everything under control and needs to know exactly what is going to happen next. Well… Who am I trying to kid? I still am a bit like this. But the point is: I learnt to find a fun side to the unexpected. While I was trying to plan everything, life constantly prove me that I cannot. So I started enjoying not knowing where life is taking me. I did not know what was going to happen after quiting my job and my country. Nor what was in store for me after my masters. Would I even be able to find an internship and finish my masters? Was I going to find a job? Move countries again? It was quite stressing but fun at the same time! I decided to take it easy, one step at a time. I had a lot of good surprises and I learnt to enjoy the process of creating life instead of living only in the future!

So for this year I plan… nothing. I don’t know what is going to happen and I am excited about it – so many possibilities! All I wish for is that, whatever happens, it is the best for me. So, same as last year, my resolutions are really on the small pleasures of life (aren’t they the best anyway?): visit new places, try new restaurantes, cook new recipes, learn a lot, have fun!

New in December

 

Último dia do ano, último ‘New In’ do ano! Dezembro começou de forma mágica com um Paris coberto de neve – foi a primeira vez que vi cair neve aqui! Tirei esta foto numa manhã de correria a tentar comprar prendas de Natal antes de ir para o trabalho. Com uma vista tão bonita fiquei de bom humor todo o dia. Dezembro é obviamente o mês do Natal por isso muitas das novas coisas estiveram relacionadas com o Natal – como fazer a primeira árvore de Natal aqui ou fazer a primeira festa de Natal da empresa no nosso escritório.

 

Last day of the year, last ‘New In’ of the year! December started amazingly with a beautiful Paris covered in snow – it was the first time I saw it here! I took this picture in one hectic morning trying to buy Christmas gifts before going to work. With such a beautiful view, I had a good mood the entire day. December is obviously Christmas month so a lot of new things were Christmas related – like doing my first Christmas tree here or doing the first Christmas party in our office.

 

 

Um dia depois do trabalho fui a um evento na Ganni Marais, com bebida, comida e uma nail station – tão bom! Também foi bom poder ver a nova coleção em loja.

 

One day after work I joined an event at Ganni Marais, with drinks, food and a nail station – so nice! And also nice to see the latest collection in store.

 

 

Quase metade do mês foi passado em Portugal, em teletrabalho. Nunca é suficiente o tempo que passo lá! Nunca consigo ver todas as pessoas nem fazer todas as coisas que quero. Ainda assim, voltei com o coração cheio de alegria e amor ♥.

Agora estou de saída para uma festa em casa nos subúrbios de Paris, esperando que 2023 comece da melhor forma!

 

Almost half the month was spent in Portugal, homeworking. It is never enough the time I spend there! I can never see all the people nor do all the thing I would to. But still, I came back this week with my heart full of joy and love ♥.

Now I am off to a house party in the suburbs of Paris, hoping to start 2023 the best possible way!
