– Onde comer: Krasopoulio tou Kokkora & Antica

– O que visitar: Areopagus Hill, National Garden, Praça Monastiraki, Rua Ermou, Ágora Antiga ou Acrópole de Atenas

Honeymoon – first stop: Athens for 24H

The first stop on our honeymoon was Athens. We’re both history and mythology enthusiasts, so we thought it made sense to start our trip with a quick visit to the capital. We spent just one day in Athens—enough to see the main attractions. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the city’s energy, and I think it would take a few more days to truly enjoy it. The food is incredible and the people are super friendly. It’s not the cleanest or most aesthetically pleasing city out there, but it’s one of the most vibrant cities I’ve ever visited—with traditional live music in many restaurants and plenty of lively street activity. With that said, here are some of my favorite attractions and restaurants for 24 hours in Athens.

– Where to eat: Krasopoulio tou Kokkora & Antica

– What to visit: Areopagus Hill, National Garden, Monastiraki Square, Ermou Street, Ancient Agora or Acropolis of Athens

Wedding weekend through my grandfather’s camera ♥

Just got back from our honeymoon and I am almost ready to face reality again. But first, I’d like to share with you the first photos from our wedding — taken with my grandfather’s camera (but snapped by my sister). I love the cinematic vibe of these photos, and I think they capture almost perfectly what these two days were like: the simplicity of a weekend in the French countryside, surrounded by family and lots of love.

Just a little teaser until I get the official photos from the photographer—I can’t wait!

Until then, I’ll share with you in future posts a preview of our honeymoon, which was a dream🌙🍯.

THE TRUTH ABOUT WEDDING PLANNING

The truth about wedding planning

The truth about wedding planning

The truth about wedding planning

With just a few weeks to go until our wedding, here I am looking back on our engagement honeymoon in Rome through these photos. It’s been almost a year and a half now. How time flies! I still can’t believe that one of the most memorable days of my life is just around the corner.

It’s been a really challenging year. And I feel like people don’t talk enough about how hard it is to organise a wedding. All I see on social media is the good stuff – engagement parties, choosing the dress, hen trips, 57-step skincare routines, going to Pilates every day, and so on. But I really don’t know how people manage to balance all these activities with a 5-day-a-week job from 9am to 6pm. I’ll be honest, I couldn’t do it. And so often I felt guilty about it, completely unnecessarily.

‘I should be eating better’, ‘I should be exercising more’, ‘I should be organising the wedding instead of relaxing’ or ‘My wedding won’t be as luxurious as everyone else’s, will it be good enough?’. And I’m not even someone who’s easily influenced by social media, but this industry has an even stronger brainwashing power! There’s an enormous pressure to ‘be the best version of yourself’ and organise the best night of your life. But nobody talks about the pressure of trying to please everyone… Because EVERYONE will have an opinion on what you should or shouldn’t do. But hardly anyone will help.

Of course, there are plenty of good things, thankfully! To be able to spend your whole life with the person you love and celebrate with the people who matter most to you, it’s all worth it. But we mustn’t forget that, at the end of the day, that’s the goal: to celebrate love, union and a new chapter. So, note to self: don’t stress so much about the colour of the napkins, the number of candles or whether or not you’ll have fireworks. You’re marrying the love of your life, and that’s what matters.

So. So.
