So. Lagom [la-gom] – Não muito, não muito pouco. A quantidade certa.So.

O minimalismo é palavra de ordem no design escandinavo. E eu adoro isso! Estas fotos foram tiradas na casa em que fiquei em Copenhaga, onde esta característica é bem notória. O quarto tinha uma cama, um roupeiro e um espelho apenas. A sala tinha uma poltrona, uma mesa de jantar, um quadro e uma pequena mesa de café. O essencial, não me faltou nada! E o essencial é suficiente.

Embora o IKEA seja um bom exemplo de funcionalismo e simplicidade, o design escandinavo é muito mais do que isso! (Sim, aposto que a primeira coisa em que pensaram quando leram o título deste post foi nas horas que já passaram a montar móveis BESTA! Ou talvez nas almôndegas e rolos de canela? Admito que muitas vezes vou ao IKEA só para comer…). É um verdadeiro exemplo de como a simplicidade é bela. Dá primazia à luz e despreza a desordem. Conseguimos encontrar estas características em várias formas de design escandinavo: da decoração de interiores à arquitetura e, claro, na moda.

Sempre fui apaixonada pela cultura escandinava e esta é uma das principas razões: saber ser feliz com pouco. É um mantra que tento sempre levar para tudo na vida. Há imensas coisas com as quais me identifico nesta cultura e muitas delas aprendi com os livros “Lagom” e “Hygge” que detalham o estilo de vida sueco e dinamarquês, respectivamente. Para os mais curiosos, farei um post sobre ambos os livros em breve! Há muitas citações e lições merecedoras de serem partilhadas 🙂 .

So. Lagom [la-gom] – Not too little, not too much. Just the right amount. So.

Minimalism is the word of order in the Scandinavian design. And I love that! These pictures were taken in the house where I stayed in Copenhagen, where this characteristic is notorious. The bedroom had a bed, a closet and a mirror only. The living room had an armchair, a dinning table, a painting and one little coffee table. The essential, nothing was missing! And the essential is enough.

Even though IKEA is a good example of functionalism and simplicity, Scandinavian design is much more than that! (Yes, I bet the first thing you thought when you read this post title was about the hours you already spent assembling BESTA furniture! Or maybe about the meatballs and cinnamon rolls? I admit I go to IKEA a lot of times just to eat…). It’s a true example of how simplicity is beautiful. Gives primacy to light and dispises disorder. We can find these characteristics in several forms of Scandinavian design: from interior décor to architecture and, of course, fashion.

I have always been a lover of the Scandinavian culture and this is one of the reasons why: knowing how to be happy with little. It’s a mantra that I always try to use on my life. There are a lot of things in which I identify myself with in this culture and a lot of them I learned in the books “Lagom” and “Hygge” which detail the sweedish and danish lifestyles, respectively. For the curious ones, I will make a post about these books soon! There are a lot of quotes and lessons worth sharing 🙂 .
