Thierry Mugler, Couturissime au Musée des Arts Décoratives

 

Thierry Mugler foi um designer de moda francês, considerado um génio por muitos. Duas semanas após a sua morte, mostro-vos algumas fotografias da exposição que lhe foi dedicada no Musée des Arts Décoratives, “Thierry Mugler, Couturissime“. Visitei a exposição em Novembro mas está aberta ao público até Abril.

 

Thierry Mugler was a french fashion designer, considered as a genius by many. Two weeks after his death, I share with you some snapshots from the exposition dedicated to him in Musée des Arts Décoratives, “Thierry Mugler, Couturissime”. As suas criações foram muitas vezes descritas como extravagantes, sexys e irreverentes. Mas são muito mais para além disso! Mugler foi um dos designers mais influentes da década de 80 e um homem do futuro – literalmente, sendo que muitas das suas criações combinam elementos de ficção científica. Também há quem o conheça pelos famosos perfumes. E a exibição contém uma sala inteiramente dedicada a esta categoria de produtos!

 

His creations were often described as extravagant, sexy and irreverent. But they are so much more than that! Mugler was one of the most influential designers of the 80s and a man of the future – literaly, since a lot of his creations combined elements of science fiction. Em 1973, “Café de Paris” (a sua primeira coleção) ganhou vida. Desde então, muitas outras coleções estiveram nas bocas do mundo. O vestido que vêem à direita, da coleção A/W 1997,  é um dos que mais sensação criou. Representa uma mulher inumana e, de certa forma, com uma aparência de fera. Foi um dos projetos mais intensos do criador – 20 pessoas trabalharam sob ele, durante 6 semanas, 24 horas por dia.

 

In 1973, “Café de Paris” (his first collection) came to life. Since then, many other collections have been spoken about around the world. The dress you see in the right picture, from the A/W 1997 collection, was one of those that created the most buzz. It represents an inhuman woman and, in some way, with beast features. This was one of the most intense projects of the creator – 20 people worked on it for six weeks, 24 hours per day.
