Qualquer filme que tenha a Audrey Hepburn vale a pena ver. Nem que seja só para olhar para ela! Mas Férias em Roma é um dos meus preferidos. E é o primeiro filme onde a Audrey tem o papel principal – pelo qual ela recebeu um prémio de melhor atriz.

Roman Holiday (1953)

Any movie with Audrey Hepburn is worth watching. Even if it is just to look at her! But Roman Holiday is one of my favorites. And it is the first movie where Audrey has a leading role – for which she received an award of best actress.

O filme é sobre a princesa Ann (Audrey Hepburn) que, cansada do seu horário sobrecarregado, decide fugir por uma noite em Roma. Joe Bradley (Gregory Peck) é um repórter americano que a encontra a dormir num banco e leva-a para casa por proteção. Mais tarde descobre a verdadeira identidade de Ann e promete ao seu editor uma entrevista exclusiva com a princesa – da qual ela não tem conhecmento. Ann desja passar um dia a fazer somenta aquilo que ela gosta e ele junta-se a ela – para juntar o máximo de informação e fotografias exclusivas.

The movie is about princess Ann (Audrey Hepburn) who, overwhelmed by her schedule, decides to takes off for a night while in Rome. Joe Bradley (Gregory Peck) is an American Reporter that finds her sleeping on a bench and takes he home for safety. Later he discovers Ann’s real identity and promises his editor to deliver an exclusive interview with the princess – an interview she is not aware of. Ann wishes to spend a day doing everything she likes and he joins her – to get the most exclusive information and photos he can.
