Summer Memories

 

Parece que o verão acaba oficialmente hoje. Por isso, porque não rever alguns dos melhores momentos dos últimos 3 meses? Aqui ficam algumas das minhas melhores memórias deste verão.

Tinha de começar com uma fotografia do meu aniversário ainda que tenha sido um dia perfeitamente normal. Primeira vez longe da minha família, trabalhei o dia todo, fui jantar sushi fora, comprei um mini bolo e soprei uma vela aleatória que tinha por casa. Sempre achei que os meus 26 anos iam ser O ANO da minha vida por isso tinha de marcar o momento – até agora não me posso queixar.

 

It seems summer oficially ends today. So why not review some of the best moments of the last 3 months? Here are some of my best summer memories.

I had to start with a little picture from my birthday even though it was a super normal day. First time far away from my family, worked the whole day, went out for sushi, bought a tiny cake and blew a random candle I had around the house. I always thought my 26 years would be THE year of my life so I really had to mark the moment – so far, so good.

 

Sunset

Na altura do meu aniversário, tinha acabado de me mudar. No primeiro fim de semana de Julho! Por isso a casa ainda estava um pouco vazia. Não tinha muito mas tinha o céu em cores quentes e bonitas. Esta foto foi tirada num entardecer de um fim de semana em que olhei pela minha janela e achei que o céu estava lindo.

 

At the time of my birthday, I had just recently moved in. First weekend of July, actually! So the house was still pretty empty. I didn’t have much around but I had the sky in beautiful warm colors. This picture was taken on a random weekend evening when I looked out of my window and thought the sky looked so pretty.

 

Stawberries

Ah, é verdade! Depois do epidódio ‘Catarina vai apanhar cogumelos’, apresento-vos ‘Catarina vai apanhar morangos’.

Eram super pequenos, mas super doces!

 

Ah, yes! After the episode ‘Catarina goes to pick up mushrooms’, I present you ‘Catarina goes to pick up strawberries’.

They were super tiny, but super sweet! 

 

Nigloland

Num fim de semana de Agosto fui a um parque de diversões. Muito mais pequeno que a Disney mas muito fofo!

Andei numa montanha russa pela primeira vez, perdi um brinco mas diverti-me imenso!

 

On an August weekend, I went to an amusent park. Much smaller than Disney but super cute!

I went on a rollercoaster for the first time, lost an earing but had do much fun!

 

Staycation

Uma espreitadela ao meu Staycation em Paris. Ahhhh, adoro este conceito! E adoro transformar dias mundanos em dias especiais. Este foi sem dúvida um dia especial – e no meu aniversário de Paris! Celebrei dois anos a viver na cidade dos meus sonhos.

 

Sneak peak of my staycation in Paris. Ahhhh I love this concept! And I love making random days into specials ones. This was for sure a speacial day – and right on my Paris anniversary! Celebrating two years on living in the city of my dreams.

 

Itqly

Depois temos Itália, claro. Não tenho muito mais a dizer sobre esta viagem visto que já fiz 150 posts sobre o assunto ahah. Só que adoro a segunda foto. Imagino-me a viajar com a minha melhor amiga e a viver a minha melhor vida quando for mais velha. E que já estou a sonhar com as próximas férias!

 

Then we have Italy, of course! Not too much to say about this trip since I already made 150 posts about it ahah. Just that I love the second picture. I imagine me travelling with my best friend and living my best life when I am older. And that I am already dreaming about my next vacations!

 

Aperol Spritz

Olá fim-de-semana!

Os meus posts de Itália acabaram por isso tenho de enfrentar a dura realidade que é voltar ao trabalho. Por isso digo olá ao fim-de-semana enquanto revisito o anterior. Fui fazer uma massagem facial perto da Torre Eiffel – mais sobre o assunto depois. Trabalhei um pouco no blog (sim, entusiasmei-me com as fotos das férias e acabei por preparar um post para cada dia da semana ahah). E fui jantar a casa de uma amiga! Estivemos ambas fora quase todo o verão por isso pusemos a conversa em dia e encomendámos comida asiática. Domingo foi dia de limpezas e compras mas também fui beber café com uma amiga a seguir ao almoço – só para ela me dizer que vai deixar Paris em breve :'(. Algum voluntário para vir ser meu amigo nesta cidade?

E este fim-de-semana planeio não fazer nada. Tivemos 40 graus na semana passada mas parece que o frio e chuva voltaram por isso tenho a desculpa perfeita para ficar em casa. Quais são os vossos planos?

 

Hello Weekend!

My Italy posts are over so I guess I have to face the cruel reality of work life. So I say hello to the weekend while revisiting my last one. I went to do a face massage not so far away from the Eiffel Tower – more on that later on. I worked a bit on the blog (yes, I got too excited with those holiday pictures, I ended up preparing a post for every single day of the week ahah). And went for dinner at a friend’s house! We were both away almost the whole summer so we caught up on life and ordered asian food for dinner. Sunday was for cleaning + shopping but I also went to see another friend for a coffee after lunch – just to find out she is leaving Paris soon :'( . Any volunteers to come and be my friends in this city?

And this weekend I simply plan on doing nothing. We had 40 degrees last weekend but it seems cold and rain are back so it is the perfect excuse to stay at home and snuggle. What are your plans?

Maison Athénée Paris

Uma colega do trabalho introduziu-me ao Staycation recentemente. Penso que é um conceito que não existe em muitas cidades (pelo menos não com este nome) excepto algumas cidades francesas, Londres, Madrid e Bruxelas. A ideia é que os locais podem marcar ‘férias’ à última da hora e tirar proveito dos melhores e mais luxuosos sítios nas suas cidades. Pode ir de um restaurante a um spa ou a um hotel: Achei uma ideia tão boa, poder fazer este tipo de planos repentinos e olhar para a nossa cidade como um turista por um dia. Tive de experimentar!

A ideia inicial era de celebrar os meus anos mas como acabei por ir no exato aniversário da minha chegada a Paris, fiz um dois-em-um. Neste contexto, tive a oportunidade de visitar a linda Maison Athénée em Paris, a apenas alguns passos da Ópera Garnier. Tem uma decoração tão distintiva e luxuosa – adorei! Mal posso esperar por continuar a testar os melhores lugares em Paris ♥.

Maison Athénée Paris

A colleague from work introduced me to Staycation recently. I think it is a concept that does not exist in a lot of cities (at least not with this name) except a few French cities, London, Madrid and Bruxelles. The idea is that locals can book last minute ‘vacations’ and profit from the best and most luxurious places in their own city. It can go from restaurants to spas and hotels.  I thought it was such a good idea when I heard it, to make exciting last minute plans and be able to look into our city as a turist for a day. I had to try it!

The initial idea was to celebrate my birthday but since I ended up going on the exact day of the anniversary of my arrival in Paris, I did a two-in-one. In this context, I had the chance of visiting the beautiful Maison Athénée in Paris, a few steps away from Opéra Garnier. It has such a distinguished and luxurious decoration – I loved it! Cannot wait to keep testing the best places in Paris ♥.
