Books, books, books

 

Estas pequenas livrarias são a coisa mais fofa. Perto de onde vivo, são todas geridas por uma pessoa mais velha que é claramente apaixonada por aquilo que faz. Acho tão lindo. E também me pergunto sobre a quantidade de conhecimento que cabe num espaço tão pequeno. Bem… a julgar pela quantidade de livros que é exibida no exterior… o conhecimento transborda pela porta!

Costumo admirá-las de longe mas sempre que a minha irmã me visita acabo por entrar em todas. Eça á uma bookworm! Especialmente de livros de horror e fantasia. No meu caso, ainda estuo a descobrir o meu género de livros favoritos. Gosto simplesmente de livros que me ensinei algo ou me façam sentir algo.

Para ser completamente honesta, não tenho lido tanto quanto queria ultimamente. Tenho tentado ler em francês porque penso ser uma ótima forma de aprender a língua! Mas o problema é que me cansa 10 vezes mais rápido do que um livro “normal”. Por isso requer um pouco mais de compromisso que o normal ahah. Ainda assim, estão na minha lista: Le Jardin Secret, Bel-Ami and L’inconnu de Peyrolles. Este último patrocinado pela Bia – obrigada por encontrares este orfão perdido numa fonte, trazeres para minha casa e abandonares de novo. Vou tomar conta dele até que ele encontre o caminho de volta para ti. Se é que alguma vez encontrará ♥.

 

These little street libraries are the cutest. Next to where I live, they are all ran by an old person that is clearly passionate about what he/she does. I think it is so beautiful. And I also wonder about the amount of knowledge that fits in such a little space. Well… judging by the amount of books that need to be displayed outside… the knowledge is literally spilling out the door! 

I usually admire them from a far but whenever my sister is visiting I end up entering every single one of them. She is a bookworm! Especially for horror and fantasy books. On my side, I think I am still trying to discover my favorite genre. I simply like books that either teach me something or make me feel something.

To be completly honest, I haven’t been reading as much as I wanted lately. I have been trying to read in French as I think it is an amazing way to learn the language! But the problem is that it tires me 10 times faster than a “normal” book. So it requires a bit more compromise than usual ahah. Anyway, still on my list are: Le Jardin Secret, Bel-Ami and L’inconnu de Peyrolles. This last one is sponsored by Bia – thank you for finding this orphan lost in a fountain, bringing it to my home and abandoning it again. I will take care of it until it finds his way back to you. Balmain SS23, Paris

 

É real! Como mencionei no meu último post, fui ao desfile da Balmain SS23 na passada quarta-feira. Tenho uma amiga que está a fazer o seu estágio na Balmain e convidou-nos para o ‘Balmain Festival’!

Não conseguia ver super bem a passarela de onde estava, como podem ver nas fotos. Mas foi incrível sentir a atmosfera e fazer parte da Semana da Moda de Paris.

E o que dizer sobre o desfile?

 

It’s real! As I mentioned in the last post, I went to the Balmain SS23 show last Wednesday. I have a friend doing her internship in Balmain so she invited us for the ‘Balmain Festival’!

I could not see super well the catwalk from where I was standing, as you can see in the pictures. But it was amazing to feel the atmosphere and be a part of Paris Fashion Week.

So what about the show itself?

 

 

Olivier Rousteing (o diretor criativo da Balmain) disse à Vogue que esta coleção é muito influenciada pelas alterações climáticas. Este verão, tanto em França como no mundo, a temperatura aumentou imenso e houve fogos por todo o lado. Por isso, pensar em tendências de moda, pareceu um pouco irracional. Ainda que a coleção não seja 100% sustentável, podemos ver o uso de materiais como papel, banana e vima.

Também houve várias referências a arte, renascimento e motivos africanos. Algumas peças são possíveis de vestir, outras são apenas belas obras de arte feitas simplesmente para serem apreciadas. No geral, uma coleção super inspiradora com mais de 100 looks! E, claro, a aparição surpresa da Cher não pode passar despercebida – o público ficou maluco!

 

Olivier Rousteing (Balmain’s creative director) stated to Vogue that this collection is a lot influenced by the climate change. This summer, in France and in the world, the temperatures were crazy high and there were fires everywhere. So thinking about fashion trends in times like these, sounded a bit unreasonable. Even though the collection is not 100% sustainable, we can see the use of materials such as paper, banana and wicker.

There were also several references to art, Renassaince and African motifs. Some pieces were wearable while some feel like just beautiful works of art made to simply de admired. Overall, a very inspiring collection of more than 100 looks! And, of course, the surprise appearance of Cher cannot go unnoticed – the public went crazy!
