FIRA OUTFIT

Fira Outfit

Dress from Na-kd // Bag from Ganni // Shoes from Asos

Ah, e tirar algumas fotos rápidas do lookinho do dia! O essencial.

On our way to Oia, we made a quick stop in Fira, the capital. It’s also a really cute town, with a very lively shopping street. We didn’t have much time there, just enough to enjoy this beautiful view. Oh, and to snap a few quick photos of my outfit! The essentials. Actually, this was the dress I wore at our civil wedding, so it’s very special to me—I absolutely love it! And it turned out to be really comfortable, too.

I had lots of white pieces in my suitcase to represent my bridal era. And it turned out to be a very smart move because they felt so much fresher than the other pieces I had.

So. So.

Oia

Oia, Santorini

Especialmente a subida!

Of course, I couldn’t talk about Santorini without mentioning Oia. We spent an entire afternoon there, and I can confirm that it’s just as beautiful as it looks on Pinterest. The view from the old castle is breathtaking. What nobody tells you is that, if you want to walk down to Ammoudi Bay, the hike is much more challenging than it looks. Especially the climb back up! Still, it all felt like a dream until 6 p.m., when all the tourists on the island gathered to watch the sunset and, suddenly, it became impossible to move, haha. A very beautiful sunset, but I have to admit it was a bit ruined by the fact that there were WAY too many people. We had the chance to stand right next to a tour guide who taught us (actually, we overheard him) a lot of interesting things. Namely, the reason why typical Greek houses are white and blue. The white is mainly to prevent heat absorption and ensure the house stays cooler during the summer. And well, since the walls were white, the roof had to be blue to match the flag!

The restaurants and bars in Oia are also much more expensive than elsewhere on the island. You’ll most likely have an incredible view, but you have to be prepared to pay the price. Still, of course, Oia is a must-see when visiting Santorini.

NOVA LUXURY SUITES

Nova Luxury Suites, Pyrgos, Thira, Gerece

Our third stop was Santorini! Once again, we stayed at a fantastic hotel: a large suite decorated for our honeymoon, a private jacuzzi, and a bottle of Greek wine waiting for us when we arrived. The hotel was in Pyrgos, a small village not far from the island’s capital (Fira). It was such a charming place and with great restaurants! We didn’t want to stay in Oia because we were looking for a slightly quieter and more authentic atmosphere. But we still visited Fira and Oia! This time we didn’t rent a car, so we had to rely on public transportation (which, actually, worked better than I expected! The only problem was that we had to leave earlier than we wanted to make sure we caught the last bus).

Speaking of the hotel, one of the best parts was that breakfast was served every morning on our balcony at the time of our choice. It really felt like such a pleasant luxury every morning! Honestly, it’s a fantastic place for a honeymoon—I highly recommend it.

So. So.
