Já deveriam saber por esta altura que sou uma apaixonada pelo estilo de vida escandinavo! No início deste ano fiz um post sobre Lagom & The Scandinavian Design – neste post mencionei que aprendi muito sobre esta cultura e estilo de vida nos livros “Lagom” e “Hygge“. Por isso, hoje, aqui estou para vos falar um pouco sobre estes livros!
Mas antes de começarmos: Já tinham ouvido falar destes livros? Quão familiarizados estão com a cultura escandinava?

You should already know by now that I am a lover of the Scandinavian lifestyle! Earlier this year I have made a post about Lagom & The Scandinavian Design – in this post I mentioned that I’ve learned a lot about this culture and lifestyle in the books “Lagom” and “Hygge”. So, today, here I am to tell you a bit more about these books!
But before we start: Have you heard about any of these books? How familiar are you with the Scandinavian culture?
So.
Primeiro que tudo: O que significa Hygge? Acredito que não há uma real tradução de Hygge para outra línguas. Mas pode ser definido como o ritual dinamarquês de apreciar os prazeres simples da vida, tornar o comum mais significativo e ter a consciência de um bom momento.
A Dinamarca é considerada, por vários anos seguidos, um dos países mais felizes do mundo (ou, talvez, O mais feliz?). Este pequeno livro guia-nos pelas práticas dinamarqueses a adotar para alcançar esta felicidade. Hygge com amigos e família? Cozinhar juntos, jogar jogos de tabuleiro e fazer visitas espontâneas. Hygge com crianças? Ler em conjunto, fazer coleções e passeios de bicicleta. Hygge para um? Cozinhar, ler, criar. Hygge em casa? Luzes, plantas, almofas e mantas.
Estas, e muitas outras atividades, são descritas no livro – à dinamarquesa! As ilustrações são muito queridas também. Fiquei feliz só de ler estas descrições! Parece que ler este livro, por si só, é uma forma de Hygge.
Hygge: Happiness the Danish way by
First of all: What does Hygge mean? I believe there is not a real translation of Hygge to any language. But it can be defined as the Danish ritual of enjoying simple pleasures, making the ordinary more meaningful and being aware of a good moment.
Denmark is considered, for several years in a row, one of the happiest countries in the world (or, perhaps, THE happiest?). This little book guides us through some of the practices the Danish adopt in order to achieve this happiness. Hygge with friends and family? Cooking together, playing board games and making spontaneous visits. Hygge with children? Reading together, making collections and going on bike rides. Hygge for one? Baking, Reading, Creating. Hygge at home? Light, plants, pillows and blankets.
These, and many other activities, are described in the book – the Danish way! The illustrations are very cute also. I got happy just by reading these descriptions! So I guess reading this book is a form of Hygge too.

Lagom: O segredo Sueco para viver bem por Lola A. Akerstörm
De novo, não há uma tradução perfeita para Lagom noutras línguas. No entanto, podemos dizer que Lagom é… Não pouco, não muito, mas a quantidade certa de algo.
Este livro está dividido em dez capítulos: cultura + emoção, comida + dias de festa, saúde + bem-estar, beleza + moda, decoração + design, vida social + diversão, trabalho + negócios, dinheiro + finanças, natureza + sustentabilidade, Lagom num mundo em mudança. É uma introdução de quase 200 páginas à bela cultura sueca!
Além do óbvio bom conteúdo, há duas coisas que eu adorei neste livro: está cheio de fotos lindas e frases / ditados populares suecos. Tão querido!
Lagom: The Swedish secret of living well by Lola A. Akerstörm
Again, there is not a real translation of Lagom to any other language. However, we can say that Lagom means… Not too little, not too much but the right amount of something.
This book is divided in ten chapters: culture + emotions, food + party days, health + well being, beauty + fashion, decoration + design, social life + entertainment, work + business, money + finance, nature + sustainability, Lagom in a changing world. It’s an introduction of almost 200 pages to the beautiful Swedish culture!
Besides the obviously good content, there were two things I loved in this book: it is filled with beautiful pictures and quotes / popular Swedish sayings. So cute!
